Intro to Connective Tissue Techniques
created and instructed by
Jennifer Carlson, LMT, BCTMB
This course is Part 2 of our Mastering CT Series. It pairs with "Intro to CT Techniques" and later, the "Mastering CT Techniques" for the CT Mastering Pathway.
Prerequisite: Intro to CT Techniques
Working with this series of techniques allows the MT to better palpate and lengthen the connective tissues of the body. In some cases, where connective tissue can become congested through tissue adhesion and scarring after injury, CT techniques provides the body with the ability to remodel these restrictions in order to increase movement.
This course will review information covered in Intro to CT Techniques before diving deeper into the methods and uses from an orthopedic scope.
Course Date:

Overview:
Day 1 - Students will have a chance to discuss how their practice has evolved by adding Connective Tissue Techniques into their clinical sequences. We will review topics covered in the Intro to CT Techniques course and move forward into discussing how these techniques can be used to address common orthopedic conditions. Lecture topics will include orthopedic pathologies with discussion on the risks, benefits, accommodations, and application of massage for each. There will be live demonstration and hands-on practice as we work through sample sequences of the conditions discussed.
Day 2 - The class will review topics covered in Day 1 and continue the live demonstrations and hands-on practice of all techniques and sequences.
Coaching on technical application and proper body mechanics is major part of Jennifer Carlson's wheelhouse. You can be sure that you are in good hands with Jen and will be guided in the right direction for a successful and lengthy career.
