Intro to Neuromuscular Techniques
for Wellness and Relaxation

Overview

This course introduces massage therapists to neuromuscular techniques specifically applied for stress reduction, nervous system calming, and deep relaxation. Rather than a clinical or corrective focus, this course emphasizes gentle neuromuscular approaches, trigger point inhibition, pacing, pressure modulation, and client-centered techniques that support the parasympathetic response. Therapists will learn how to safely integrate neuromuscular therapy into wellness and relaxation sessions to reduce stress, muscle guarding, and sympathetic overactivation.

What to Expect

We offer a perfect balance of lecture and hands-on practice. Learners will gain the skills to become adept in promoting the stimulation of parasympathetic responses within the nervous system and decreasing resting muscle tension.

The first portion of the course involves a discussion of the use and application of techniques, all expected outcomes of practice, the evidence behind the practice, cautions, and CIs. The second portion of the course provides learners with a practical approach which will instill confidence while working with clients who present with increased stress levels or are looking to maintain wellness.

Coaching on technical application and proper body mechanics is major part of Jennifer Carlson's wheelhouse. You can be sure that you are in good hands with Jen and will be guided in the right direction for a successful and lengthy career.
