Students will have a chance to discuss how their practice has benefited from using the technique of focus in their clinical sequences. We will review topics covered in Intro course and move forward into discussing how these techniques can be used to address common orthopedic conditions and other mildly complicate health history. Lecture topics will include orthopedic pathologies, with discussion on the risks, benefits, accommodations, and application of massage for each. There will be live demonstrations and hands-on practice as we work through sample sequences of the conditions discussed.
The class will review topics covered in Day 1 and continue to observe live demonstrations. There will be more opportunity for specific question and answer on this day related to real-life (anonymous) client case studies that the students have encountered within their career. The group will use their critical thinking to discuss different ways that they may choose to use the technique of focus to address the same pathologies in various presentations. Once again, there will be ample hands-on practice for the students so that they can re-enter their profession with confidence in their new abilities.
