Intro to Connective Tissue Techniques
created and instructed by
Jennifer Carlson, LMT, BCTMB
This course is Part 1 of our Mastering CT Series. It pairs with "Advanced CT Techniques" and "Mastering CT Techniques" for the CT Mastering Pathway.
Working with this series of techniques allows the MT to better palpate and lengthen the connective tissues of the body. In some cases, where connective tissue can become congested through tissue adhesion and scarring after injury, CT techniques provides the body with the ability to remodel these restrictions in order to increase movement.
This course will review the many connective tissues of the body, describe the connective tissue technique, display how to perform them, and discuss how to organize them within a practice sequence. There will be a review of the cautions and contraindications. We will discuss the expected outcomes and the evidence that proves these outcomes related to body structure and function.
Course Date:
Sunday, August 18th, 2024
Time:
9am - 5pm
Location:
NJ School of Massage
216 Main Street, Toms River
Overview:
This course provides the perfect balance of lecture and hands-on practice. Learners will gain the skills to become adept in increasing fascial pliability, decreasing resting muscle tension, and overall range of motion.
The first portion of the course involves a discussion of the use and application of techniques, all expected outcomes of practice, the evidence behind the practice, cautions, and CIs. The second portion of the course provides learners with a practical approach which will instill confidence while working with superficial fascia and the deep fascia of the body.
Coaching on technical application and proper body mechanics is major part of Jennifer Carlson's wheelhouse. You can be sure that you are in good hands with Jen and will be guided in the right direction for a successful and lengthy career.
Learning Objectives:
